Our day trips in KS and MO

We have been here 2 weeks so far. Here are some pictures for you all to enjoy. There is a picture of the sun rise across the street. That house is right on the Missouri River. We also took some pictures from the park up the st. w/ a beautiful lake, Kansas City, the Amelia Earhart airport, a small little town nearby called Weston & the ski resort that is 15 mins away.

Updates on the 3 Behr's

We are slowly getting unpacked. I am still using Larry's laptop so I am not able to upload pictures yet. Soon I promise. Larry is keeping very busy with school. It is great to have him home every night & not out to sea. On his way home last night he hit a deer. He is fine, the truck is fine & I'm sure the deer is fine too. It's a long country road & we knew a deer would pop out in front of the car sometime. Tomorrow I will go to work with Larry at 7 am. The Army offers this great program for the students & spouses. They are going to do a complete work up on us. Draw blood, check cholesterol, blood pressure, body fat, etc. & custom make a diet & work out for us. We can't wait, since the movers already put our weight equiptment back together for us so our gym is ready to go. I had my 6 week post baby check up this week & all is well. Next week Skylar has her 2 month check up. I can't wait to see how much she weighs since she feels soooooo heavy!

Kids say the darndest things

Yesterday my nephew called to tell Skylar Happy Valentine's Day. He asked me if Uncle Larry flew helicopters with guns to kill bad people in the war.I didn't quite know what to say  ....but I think he has been watching too much Fox News w/Grandpa! I told him That Uncle Larry is in school/College right now. He said oh ok...Is that harder than Kindergarten?

Valentine's Day

Yesterday we went out exploring. We went to a huge shopping/dining area in Kansas City Kansas called Legends. It was really neat. It's only about 50 minutes away. There is a race track (cars)a Dave & Busters, & a Great Wolf Lodge. We went to the biggest furniture store I've ever seen, called Nebraska Furniture Mart. We got Skylar a book case & now her room is complete. Then we drove to Kansas City MO. We stopped at a great BBQ place for lunch. Our friend Mindy is from the area & told us to check it out. Thanks Mindy! Lunch was great. Larry had the ribs & I had the burnt ends (a local specialty) It is beef slow cooked for 17 hours. Yummy! We also located the Zoo which will be nice when it gets a little warmer. After our adventure we went right back to unpacking the house which is very hard with a newborn! Speaking of Skylar... today she projectile pooped across the room & got it everywhere!.....including all over my clothes. Larry almost threw up. I changed into ugly sweats & a shirt that doesn't match. Hopefully soon I will get back to wearing normal clothes & brushing my hair.

life in Kansas

It's day 5 in Kansas & all is good so far. Every day I sit on the porch swing with Skylar & she loves it. I can't wait until it's a little warmer so she doesn't have to be all bundled up. Tomorrow morning the movers are coming with our furniture. I can't wait to set up Skylar's room. It would also be nice to have living room furniture & a tv. My back is really sore from carrying around my big baby all day. Other than that things are great.

Our move to Kansas

We made it. The trip went pretty good. Our car was packed so tightly & we were also towing a packed trailer. The dogs were in the back & within 5 minutes they broke the pet gate we had installed so we spent the entire time pushing them back. Skylar was great for most of the trip & Larry & I had a great system when we stopped. The last 6 hours of the trip Skylar had enough & screamed until we got home. The house is beautiful. I can't wait to get our furniture & get settled. I can't believe we will be moving again in 10 months!!! Larry showed me around town...that took all of 5 minutes...ha ha ha. It is a very small town. The restaurants have hand written closed signs on their doors. The people seem very nice. The 1st morning I woke up to a beautiful sunrise. We live right across the street from the Missouri river & state line. As soon as we hook up a printer I can  upload pictures. It has been 70 degrees the last 2 days. We really lucked out. Skylar loves to sit with me on the front porch swing. This weekend Larry has a 3 day weekend & we plan to check out Kansas City & have some ribs or BBQ or steak! I can't wait.

Getting ready to move

Well, today is my last day to finish packing. Hopefully Skylar will be on good behavior. The movers will come pack the house the next 3 days. Larry will fly home Wednesday night. I can't wait to see him. He hasn't seen Skylar in 3 1/2 weeks & I know he can't wait to see her. We will load our trailer on Thursday & hit the road on Friday. I am not looking forward to the long trip with an infant & 2 dogs. I hope it goes smooth. I can't wait to get to our new house
& unpack & go exploring. Yesterday someone made an offer on our house in VA. We are going to counter offer & hopefully it will work out. Yesterday was a beautiful day in the 60's so I tried to take Skylar for a walk on the boardwalk. She hated it. After 5 minutes I took her home, but at least I tried.
