Homecoming

Last Wednesday at 10:15 am Larry came home from a 6 month deployment. It was a great day. I prepared Skylar all week but the morning of Homecoming she refused to put on her patriotic outfit & said she didn't want to go pick up her Daddy! She wore her nightgown & a mini skirt & had unbrushed hair. As soon as we got to the Squadron she was excited. She played with the other kids & got to watch a deployment video that had plenty of pictures of her Daddy in it. As we stood outside & watched the helicopters fly in all of the kids were saying "yay! here comes my Dad" Skylar said..."NO...that's My Daddy's ellhopper!" Larry was the pilot so he was the last one off the helo. Sky waited patiently & then ran to her Daddy. He gave her a special bracelet that one of the sailors made for her out of pink parachute chord. Larry had to give a speech which he couldn't get out of his pocket since he was holding Skylar. His speech was still fantastic. We were the last ones to leave that day because Skylar had to sit in EVERY helicopter. We went home & opened all of our cool gifts from around the world. She hasn't left her Daddy's side. She even follows him outside, to the shower, & to the bathroom. Larry had 4 days off with us before he had to go back to work. Skylar had trouble getting to bed the 1st few nights because she was so happy to be with her Daddy Daddy.

Getting ready for Daddy to come home

This week we've been keeping very busy getting ready for Larry to come home from deployment. We will pick him up tomorrow morning! Skylar is so excited. Her & her friends made welcome home signs & we decorated the house. She keeps saying that her Daddy Daddy is coming home soon in his "elhopper" (helicopter) I don't think we will get much sleep tonight.

Lots and lots of Ladybugs

The other Day we went to a garden center to buy some new plants. Skylar loved looking at all of the gardens & fountains. Since she likes bugs so much I bought her a bag of ladybugs to release in her garden. It was a bag of 1800 ladybugs. She had so much fun releasing them. We go out to the garden several times a day to check on them. She calls them her "wiggle bugs"

Summer fun times

We've been having so much fun lately gardening, going to the pool, BBQ's, and just hanging out with friends.
