Long night with Skylar

Since Skylar has been doing so well trying many new foods (even chunky foods) we decided to introduce her to wheat the other day. We gave her 2 wheat spiral noodles & she enjoyed picking them up & feeding herself. About 2 hours later she woke up screaming. She had hives all over & her eyes were so puffy they were swollen shut. Thank God she never had trouble breathing. We put cold cloths on her eyes & within about 10 minutes she could open her eyes & the hives started to go away. I stayed up all night with her & watched her sleep to make sure her breathing was normal. The next day she was smiling & playing but still not quite herself. Her eyes were still very red & puffy. She slept great last night & today her beautiful eyes were back to normal & she was playing & laughing...back to her old self! We called her Dr's office & they said not to give her anything with wheat & next month at her checkup they will test her for food allergies. Hopefully she will outgrow it. I'm just so glad she's ok.

Best friends

Taz just loves Skylar. It helps that he's just as tall as her high chair & she drops food & lets him lick her fingers!

A day of 1sts

Today Skylar tried small pieces of chicken & got to pick it up herself. As I expected Taz now sits under her high chair! She also got her 1st boo boo. I wanted to cry for her. I hate having hard wood floors while she is learning to crawl & sit up. I put pillows around her but she always falls away from the pillows. She's been a little grouchy the past couple of days & she was playing on the area rug & then face planted into her toy cell phone. She got a little lump on her eye brow! My poor baby. When I was trying to get her to go to bed she kept gumming my finger & I felt it...her 1st tooth is starting to come in! Before you know it she will want to date...get married...move out. I don't like to think about it. She will always be my baby.

Too young for school

I need to grow a little more so I can carry this on my back for school. My Mommy will cry when that day comes.

Sitting up

For a few weeks now I've been able to sit Skylar up & she stays that way for awhile before falling over. This week she started going from laying down to sitting up herself. Tonight I put her in her crib & turned away for a minute & when I looked back she was sitting up & trying to pull herself up! Time to lower the mattress. I can't believe she is going to be 8 months old next week! She still has no teeth. Taz just loves her & now when he licks her face she opens her mouth & licks him back! Yucky! I'm just glad he loves her so much.

Kansas City day trip

Today we went to a huge Farmer's Market in KC. We got our produce for the week. Skylar got tons of compliments. The outfit she is wearing cost 30 cents! We hit a church Rummage Sale last week & we got to fill a bag for $1. I got Skylar 10 items! Today we got some gelato at a little Italian place, Starbucks, & Mexican food for dinner. We are so full we may never eat again!

Sitting up by myself

I am getting to be quite the handful for my Mommy! I can sit up for a long time by myself & I cry when Mommy leaves the room....I miss her! Yesterday we went for a 3 mile hike in MO. I was in my backpack on Daddy's back & it sure was hot! They sprayed me down with water a lot but me & Tazzy were sure glad when it was over. Mommy says we will hike again in the fall when it gets cooler. Mommy cooked & froze more baby food for me yesterday. If I knew how to use the computer I would enter my Mommy in a Worlds Greatest Mom contest! (ha ha ha)

Moms Birthday

Mommy is having a great day so far! Daddy cooked her breakfast & is making her a great dinner tonight...filets from the butcher shop with a mushroom wine sauce & loaded baked potatoes. He surprised Mommy with season 1& 2 of Army Wives...her favorite show. We are off to take Mommy shopping.
