Skylar & her friends in VA

fun in December

We made it to Virginia safely & we love our new house. We are almost unpacked. We had some get togethers with some great friends before we left for TN for a week. It's great to be back home. Happy New Year everyone.

snow bunnies

Tonight we went to a going away party hosted by someone from Larry's class. It was a lot of fun. Skylar waved to a little 3 year old boy & smiled & grabbed his arm. He was not interested in her at all :( The ride home was not as fun...lots of snow & a screaming baby.

We have lots of exciting things coming up...Larry's K State graduation, moving into our new home, our holiday trip to TN, Christmas, Skylar's Birthday & Emily's Christening. Larry & Chris have the great honor of being GodParents :) We have a lot to do to get ready for our big move back east so we may not post for a couple of weeks. Skylar is 11 months old today & she clapped for the 1st time. She's becoming very musical. She still loves to play piano with Larry & now she likes to bang a spoon on a pot. She is so much fun

baby's 1st Thanksgiving

Dinner was good but a little crazy! Skylar cried all during dinner & kept throwing her bottle (but was very happy after dinner) Larry's dinner was too rare so he cooked it longer & it turned into leather...yuck! I made him another piece & forgot to put away the roast...uh oh...we turned around as Taz was running away with it!!! He never steals food but this was too good for him to pass up

Skylar meets Santa

Skylar went right over to Santa & sat with him. She wasn't scared but she wouldn't smile. After a few minutes she tried to touch his hand but didn't like his gloves & cried...only for a minute. After this visit she played in the mall play area with 5 other little girls. She had so much fun & never stopped smiling. About an hour later we walked by Santa & he said "Have a Merry Christmas Skylar"...he remembered her name!

cutie pie

In 6 days Skylar will be 11 months old. She will be walking on her own any day now. She's getting more of a personality. She's not shy at all...afraid of nothing & loves to hear herself talk. In the morning she stands up in her crib & looks at Taz...waves & says "hi Taz" so cute!!!

The greatest moment in my life

I can't believe Skylar's 1st Birthday is next month! Time sure does fly. I still remember every minute of the 15 painful hours of labor (worth every minute)! I also can't believe I pushed out this big baby. After I delivered her this was the 1st time I held her. I am so glad Larry took this video to remember this moment always. Enjoy

The Kansas City Zoo

Since today was a rare November day with the temps in the 70's we decided to go to the KC Zoo. Skylar was very good. She spent more time looking at the other kids than the animals we paid to see!

Atchison Halloween Parade

Larry had school today so I took Skylar to a parade downtown. It was a lot of fun. It was almost an hour long with music, dancing, animals & more. I was most impressed with the Elementary School band playing Eye of the Tiger! The weather was perfect too! Here are a few pics of her watching the parade & of Skylar next to the Amelia Earhart statue.
