Christmas 2011

We had such a nice Christmas. Skylar was so excited about all of the presents Santa left her. She was really excited to see that he ate all of the truffles we left him. That night we went to dinner at the Arana house. It's our Christmas tradition & it's a good one. Skylar slept like a baby & couldn't wait to play with her toys the next day.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas eve. In the morning Larry made a big breakfast & then he gave Skylar & I pedicures. Skylar loves having her toes polished. She filled our foot tub with her plastic fish. Afterwards we made chocolate truffles for Santa. That night we tried some truffles & put out a plate for Santa. We also put out milk & some carrots for the reindeer. Skylar said goodbye to Rainbow her elf. He will be back next year after Thanksgiving. We read Twas The Night Before Christmas and she went right to bed. She woke up at 1 am because she had a bad dream. We went downstairs to sleep on the couch. I had to carefully sneak her past the tree. She never saw the presents. She wouldn't go to sleep until 4:15 am but then woke a few hours later refreshed & ready to open presents.

Busch Gardens

On thursday December 22nd we went to Busch Gardens for Christmas Town. We went with our good friends. The display of Christmas lights was amazing. We also went on a train ride, saw an Elmo Christmas show, the Miracle Christmas show, & got to pet a clydesdale. Larry had to work that day but when we got home he surprised Skylar with a new moon nightlight on her ceiling. She loved it. Larry had 4 days off of work after that. It flew by but we made the most of it. We had wonderful family time.

Elf on The Shelf

Last Sunday the doorbell rang & it was our new Elf! Skylar was super excited to get one. She named him Rainbow. He watches her every day & reports to Santa each night about Skylar's behavior. Every morning when Skylar wakes up she gets to look for him. He always lands in a new spot. On Christmas Eve he will return to Santa & he will be back again after Thanksgiving next year.

Dance Class

Skylar still goes to the parent/child classes at The Little Gym & loves it so much. Since she will be 3 years old next week her teacher Ms Patty talked to us about Skylar moving up to the next level. Instead of a 45 minute class it will be an hour long class and Mom will wait outside! Skylar had the option to take either gymnastics or dance & she has decided to take dance. It will be 1/2 hour of dance and 1/2 hour of tumbling in the gym. She can't wait to start her new class after the Christmas break. I let her pick out a beautiful outfit for her class. She is also very excited about taking a class without Mommy!

HSC-22 Children's Christmas Party

On December 10th Skylar got to attend a Christmas Party at Larry's squadron. They had crafts, games, & 2 bounce houses. The most exciting part was when Santa was flown in by helicopter. Larry was one of his elves for the day. Skylar was so excited to find out that her Daddy got to pick up Santa from the North Pole!!! She couldn't wait to sit on Santa's lap. He got her a shark airplane for her gift! She asked him to bring her Spongebob for Christmas.

Decorating for Christmas

The 1st weekend in December we decorated for Christmas. Skylar really had a blast. After Larry put the lights on the tree we let her help us decorate it. Then we put up a little train village & outside lights. Every night before bedtime Skylar wants to go outside to look at the lights on our street. Her favorite thing is to look at the big blow up Santa & Snowman in our neighbor's yard. Every day Skylar likes to un-decorate & re-decorate our tree. As soon as it gets dark she turns on the tree lights & our leg lamp nightlight from The Christmas Story movie.
