Skylar & Emily

This week we had a visit from Skylar's Grandma & Grandpa & her cousin Emily (who is only 5 months younger) They are having so much fun together. Skylar can be a little bossy at times but she still gives Emily hugs & kisses & calls her in the morning...she yells up the steps..."Emmy...Emmy" so cute! So far the girls went to Skylar's tumbling class, an air show, & the petting zoo. They are staying until Wednesday.

tumbling class

We've been stuck at home all week because of the severe rain, tornado & flood warnings. Oh yeah...and our roof is leaking! The rain kept waking us during the night. This morning Skylar woke up at 5 am & after I gave her some milk I put her back to bed. Since it has been darker in the mornings we both fell asleep. I woke up at about 9:15 & Sky was still asleep. I remembered we had tumbling class so I quickly got dressed & then Sky woke up. I got her dressed & turned on the news. They mentioned that a lot of roads were flooded so I thought we should leave early. Skylar took 2 huge stuffed animals, a sippy cup of water, a bottle of milk & a gluten free breakfast bar. As usual I put on her Clifford video w/ the radio.....after she cried I switched the volume to her cartoon. She dropped the stuffed animals during our trip & started to cry. She also decided not to drink her milk until we got to the parking lot. I waited for her to finish & hoped she didn't do a #2 during class. When I picked her up she handed me her water bottle which leaked & left a HUGE wet spot on the front of her skirt. I spent the entire class telling everyone it's just water...not pee :) At the end of class someone told me that Sky had beautiful curly hair & asked if I did that w/ a curling iron? I told her that Skylar just rolled out of bed & that's what it looked like. I was thinking....Who in the world has time to curl a 21 month olds hair for a 10 am tumbling class????

Skylar loves her Daddy

Skylar has been saying Daddy for a long time now. When she hears him come home from work she runs to the door saying "Daddy, Daddy" Yesterday was the 1st time that she cried when he left for work in the morning. Later that afternoon Skylar thought she heard the front door & ran saying "Larry, Larry" sooooo funny!

new words

Skylar is growing up so fast. She started back up at The Little Gym & it's amazing how much more she can do. She can hang from the rings & the uneven bars & she loves it! In the past 2 weeks she has learned many new words. She loves to say doggy, birdie, uh oh, oh no, etc...but most important...MOMMY! She said it last week & now says it all the time & gives out so many hugs & kisses. She loves to hold her cell phone up to her ear & Taz's ear & says "hello" She is obsessed w/ shoes. She says "shoe" & holds up her foot. She is very cuddly right now. Her favorite show is Clifford The Big Red Dog. I just love this age.

Sandbridge Beach Vacation

Last week we had a family reunion in Virginia Beach (Sandbridge) There were 14 of us ranging in age from 1 to 87 (4 generations) coming together from 5 different states. We saw dolphins every day & once we saw a whale! Larry went skydiving while I tried a yoga class on the beach. We ended our week w/ a wonderful seafood dinner at a local restaurant.
