Another TN visit

The last week in August was a strange one. At the beginning of the week we had an earthquake. We felt it, but didn't have any damage. The earthquake was felt from NC all the way up the east coast. It actually did some damage to the Washington Monument. By the end of the week there was a huge hurricane threat for the entire east coast.(hurricane Irene) Daddy had to stay at home to work on the Naval Base while Mommy & Skylar decided to evacuate to TN. Better to be safe than sorry. Thankfully we had very little damage. The trip to TN was a long one since Sky asked about every 5 minutes if we were almost to Grandmas house. Once we were in TN Sky had a great time visiting w/ the family. She kept telling me she loved the pretty mountains & she loved feeding Grandma Frey's chickens.

Picking Blueberries

I took Skylar to pick blueberries at Pungo Blueberries, Etc. She loved it! When we paid for our blueberries she told the lady they were yummy in her tummy.We are going to do it again next year. The next morning Skylar & Daddy made gluten free blueberry pancakes w/ blueberry syrup. YUM!

The last couple of months were very busy. Skylar just loves having her Daddy home from deployment. She loves to have tea parties with him and all of her favorite stuffed animals...speaking of stuffed animals, Skylar had a couple of bad nights. She had a tough time sleeping in her own bed after being on a road trip. She cries at bedtime until she pukes! She always manages to get sick all over piggy which means he has to have a bath. Skylar pulls up a chair in front of the washer & watches him get clean. We had a nice visit from Billy & Kelly. We went out to eat a couple of times & Skylar was very well behaved. Larry also took us on a tour of the USNS Arctic. Skylar got to put on the Captains hat & sit in his chair.

trip to TN

At the end of July we took a trip to TN to visit family. We had a great time. We went to Cades Cove, a Fire truck display at a church, a grand opening for a new ice cream/coffee shop, and much more. Skylar loved spending time with family. She had a special day with Grandma Booker & Great Granny. We went to Pigeon Forge and saw live black bears, made a pink poodle at build a bear, and had an old fashioned/4 generation photo. After that she got to take a ride on Grandma's tractor. She also got to go to 2 Birthday parties to celebrate Mommy, Uncle Johnny, & Uncle Roy's birthday! Sky had a lot of fun hanging out w/ her cousins at Grandma & Grandpa's house while Mommy & Daddy went out to dinner.
