Fathers Day weekend

Skylar really missed having her Daddy here for Fathers Day weekend. We still kept busy. We had a fun day swimming with friends. Sky asked me if she could buy a balloon for her Daddy. She insisted on a pink dolphin balloon. We sent Larry a picture & he loved it.

The Little Gym graduation

Last Friday Skylar graduated from the Little Gym . She had so much fun. I'm amazed to see how many new skills she's trying since she started 1 1/2 years ago. We're all signed up for the summer session along with the Library summer reading program.

best buddies

Skylar just loves her dog Taz. He plays so well with her. She is always bossing him around, dressing him in jewelry, & trying to make him eat fake food from her play kitchen. The other day Sky got my measuring cups out of the drawer & asked for some ice which she shared with her best buddy Taz!

Skylar is just about 2 1/2 and she is learning a ton. She sings songs, says the alphabet, knows her shapes, colors & is getting better w/ numbers. She says bless you when you sneeze. She loves doing puzzles & her favorite is the USA map. She is learning so many states already & she will point to Virginia & tell you she is from Virginia Beach, she's 2, & her name is Skylar Rae Behr.

a day at the mall

Last Tuesday we went to the Lynhaven Mall. I took Skylar to the story time at Barnes & Noble. She heard a book about a puppy & got to color a picture of a Bassett Hound. Afterwards we walked through the mall & she got on a couple of rides. On our way out she stopped to play with the train set in the book store.

Last week we decided to have some fun inside since it was so hot outside. We had story time in Skylar's room followed by a picnic. We had so much fun.

Coloring Swimming and Cooking

This week we are still trying to keep cool The heat is brutal. Skylar loves crafts. I bought her some Crayola window markers so she can decorate the sliding glass doors. Besides swimming in the kiddie pool Skylar also loves her new Tinkerbell sprinkler from her Grandma Frey. We were invited to swim in the neighbors pool which she loved. I find a 2 piece swim suit much easier for little girls who are potty training but her Daddy wishes she would wear a wet suit instead! She still likes to water her plants & noticed a red tomato the other day. She picked it, took a bite, & quickly spit it out. She is such a big helper. This week we baked gluten free banana bread & Sky got to mix the batter. She also loves to help vacuum, put laundry in the dryer & pick up after Taz. Sometimes when we go out Taz gets into the recycle bin. Skylar picks up the mess & says "Tazzy was bad!" Like a normal 2 year old she still has tantrums from time to time. I ignore her but she can go on for a long time!
