Skylar updates

Skylar is going through her 1st deployment & she's doing pretty well. Larry has been gone almost 2 weeks now. He made some videos before he left:videos of him & Skylar playing, reading books, & a good night video...which she plays about 10 times each night. She is really starting to talk up a storm. She knows so many words now! She is also starting to count, learn colors & the alphabet. I put on a lot of educational shows for her on tv & some cartoons. She is also starting to follow directions & dance. Her favorite toys are her play kitchen, musical instruments, her tools, and as always...stuffed animals! She got a new potty the other day & was so excited. She sat on it all day. The next day she didn't want to sit on it at all & turned it into a toy box!!! We still go to tumbling classes at The Little Gym on friday mornings.

busy couple of months

It seems like it's been crazy busy since Thanksgiving. It all went so fast but it was a lot of fun. After Christmas we went to TN to visit the family. It was a great visit w/ both sides. Mom Booker had a great New Years Eve party. Larry surprised us on the way home. We stayed at a hotel & hiked the Natural Bridge...so beautiful. We also went to Baltimore this past Saturday for Gram's surprise 80th Birthday party. She was very surprised & Aunt Jeanine hosted a great party. Larry left yesterday for a 6 month deployment. This is his 4th deployment but his 1st time away from Skylar. It's going to be hard but we have a lot of fun things/trips coming up to keep us busy. Skylar got a special gift from her friends CC & Deuce. It's a Daddy Doll w/ a button she can push to hear a special message from her Daddy. She sleeps w/ it every night. Larry also made her lots of videos of himself for her to watch which she really enjoys.

Christmas

Skylar had a blast opening her gifts this year. We had dinner at the Arana house & Skylar got to play w/ all of her friends. The night ended w/ a white Christmas! It's hard to believe we had over a foot of snow in Virginia Beach!

Birthday Party

On Sunday December 19th, Skylar had a reptile birthday party! It was so much fun! 33 people came (14 kids!) We had family come in from TN, MD & Delaware! JB's Rattles did the reptile show. They brought 2 snakes, a turtle, a big lizard & a giant hissing cockroach. Skylar has no fear. She pet & held everything. What a fun day we had.

Squadron Christmas Party

On Saturday morning we took Skylar to the HSC-22 Children's Christmas Party. She had a blast! Santa was flown in by helo & then handed out gifts to the kids. Each family got to take a picture with Santa in the helo. As you can see Skylar didn't like him very much.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday. We love having friends & family over for a big meal. This year we made turkey, roast beef, collard greens, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, homeade stuffing, & appetizers. Our guests brought some yummy desserts. Skylar had a blast playing with her friends. The kids outnumbered the adults this year!
