Good news

We are still in Colorado & loving it! Larry just got his orders & we are going back to Norfolk!!!!!!! We will be back in December. We will go house hunting in October for a new house in Virginia Beach (since we sold the other one) Larry said we are getting a pool this time! Can't wait!

Our road trip to Colorado

We left home on Sunday & headed to Colorado. It was a 9 hour trip to Denver on 1 road the entire time (through) Kansas. Corn fields & miles & miles of nothing. We actually went 3 1/2 hours without seeing a gas station!We stayed over night in Denver at a hotel with Larry's brother Bill. The next day we picked up Larry's Mom, his brother Pat, & his wife Kelly & drove 3 1/2 hours to Steamboat Springs. It was a beautiful drive. This place is awesome! There is so much to do & NO humidity. We are staying in a cool resort with 3 pools, hot tubs, game rooms, BBQ areas, etc. So far we drove out to look at the hot springs, & hiked to a waterfall. Today Larry surprised me. The family watched Skylar so Larry & I could do something on my bucket list...we went in a hot air balloon & it was so great!!!! As soon as we took off we saw a deer in a stream! We also saw a naked man on his balcony.Well gotta go have more fun but I will post pictures soon.

Time for bed

Last night Skylar was giggling & babbling & then she fell asleep sitting on my lap. She was out for the next seven hours! So cute.

1st possible word

Today when Skylar woke up she said dada dada & she said it again later. I'm not sure if she is trying to say Daddy...but it made Larry's day! She has been making sounds for a long time so I'm sure more words will come soon.

This is so cool! How do people come up with these clever ideas?

ZIPLOC OMELET works for one or many and cleanup is easy. Put the sterilized wet pot back and throw away the Ziploc and disposable plates and forks.
This works great ! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that everyone has to wait the same short time for their special omelet !
Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.
Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2 eggs) and add about ¼ cup of milk / buttermilk (if desired), then shake to blend them.
Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, green chili, mushrooms, spinach, etc.
Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shakes. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Hot air expands
Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for at least 13 minutes [we did 15 minutes]. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot.. For more, make another pot of boiling water. (You can use a clothespin [if you find them] to secure each bag to side of the pot).
Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily.. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.
Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.
And the Omelets are just the right shape to fold over other ingredients.
Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag/s in boiling water while you get ready. And in 15 minutes while using that time to get ready, you've got a nice omelette for a quick breakfast. Eggs and cooked bacon bits/sausage are good combos
